When good drama ends, I am often filled with a void in my heart as well as a void on my TV time-table. What am I going to do now from 10-11am? Sleep earlier?
I chanced upon the series during channel surfing and was attracted by 天心, the main actress. She has the x-factor and is extremely likeable. Starhub info calls her hot-babe. I couldn’t understand why until I googled her name and found some of her nude photos online.
In the drama, 天心 is 沈若薇, a plastic surgeon who finds her first love 言鐵男 in a remote village, except now he is an obese man (actor in a fat suit) in love with another girl 倩倩. When they were in middle school, 言鐵男 often rescued 若薇, a nerdy girl who was often bullied.
On his wedding day to 倩倩, 倩倩 runs away and 鐵男 is filled with despair. He finds her in the city but she tells her she is looking for her perfect man. 鐵男 decides to go for plastic surgery and 若薇 helps him in order to advance her career in the clinic she works in.
Six months later, 鐵男 transforms into Bryan, a dashing man with model looks. He finds work with 倩倩’s employer in a cosmetic company, owned by Melvin, who is his school mate in middle high. Melvin is still in love with 若薇 but 若薇 and 鐵男 do not know his real identity.
鐵男 is chosen to be the spokesman for a ‘natural’ cosmetic product for men but he is not ‘naturally’ perfect. His secret of having gone under the knife threatens to be exposed by 若薇’s competitor unless she leaves her profession for good. Realising it’s her love for the man, and not the product she created, 若薇 agrees.
The chemistry between the two leads are enough to hold the drama. Their bickering and camaraderie relationship is just the right formula for any Mills and Boon’s romance. But I must admit, having 天心as the lead is really the icing on the cake, and that’s coming from a woman.
Go watch it on the internet.
