There have been a flurry of activities in my family recently, and all 喜事!
It started when my Aunt Gek called up excitedly a month ago when she spotted a pair of Pink Necked Green pigeon nesting in a tree near her house. She called Mike over as she wanted to capture the moment and print it on a canvass for her house. Mike obliged of course, as he took time off work over two days to photograph them.
Then, it was my brother’s wedding, but that’s another story altogether.
Just before my brother’s wedding on 9 April, I spotted a Yellow Vented Bulbul (thanks to my bird watching neighbour, Doreen, who identified the birds for us) building a nest in my pot of Japanese bamboo just outside my dining room. Mike managed to put a webcam over the nest and captured the newborn this morning.
It’s interesting to see the parent (may be mum or dad) waiting patiently with food in its beak, for the weak new born to lift up its head to feed, and the parents taking turn to incubate. Enjoy!
